The Station Summer Event

The Station Summer Party

This year our Level 3 Apprentices Leah and Amelia have had to organise an event as part of their qualification and portfolio, and what better way to do so than by putting on a Hair Show.

We all hope you enjoy!

The following information given in this online program will hopefully give you all the information needed to enjoy your evening.

Toilets

As our drains are incredibly old and struggle to cope on a normal day we took the decision that a portable toilet was a good idea, this is located outside the building
to the right.

Hair Show

Stylists who have taken part and their models that are featuring in the catwalk.

The theme I have chosen is ‘pampas grass’. Don’t ask, It was the first thing that popped into my head so I decided to run with it. There are many different textures and tones within pampas grass as there is with hair. The extra qualification that I have gained this year has been Hair Extensions therefore I’m super exited to showcase one of my lovely clients Lisa who wears a 20” Weave and Nanos.
Neve C : has had a major colour conversion with me transforming her hair to a soft brunette with subtle face framing.
Kiera C : has had highlights and a toner with me to enhance her natural blonde and take it even brighter!
Lily B : has had a balayage and toner, to create those gorgeous multi tones.
Lisa T : has hair extensions to create thickness and length.

My theme for my models this year has been blondes, throughout my level 2 and 3 training I have always enjoyed the process of lightening my clients hair.  Being a blondie my self I thought it was only right I showcase what I love doing the most and the work I love producing. Along side blondes I also love styling my clients hair with a curl so what better way to send 3 gorgeous blonde clients down the cat walk with 3 different types of curls which suit each of their styles differently.
Lottie : naturally really light blonde with some natural highlights going through, styled with a soft wave.
Sarah : full head highlights with a toner and a gorgeous bob, styled with a beach wave.
Liza : since looking after Lizas hair we have been from full head highlights to now enjoying full head tint and embracing some natural warmth to the hair. Styled with a chop stick wand to give volume and curl.

I have chosen hair up, I am the new level 2 appreciate and i have started doing cuts and colours but mostly hair up, as much as I say I don’t like this i have very much enjoyed this project . I have been able to express a different type of style without cutting or colouring.I have shown three very different looks which show the fun and excitement to this job and as an apprentice that it doesn’t all have to be straight cuts and paper work.
Julie : I wanted to show a simple but fun look using flower accessories.
Adele : I wanted to show a festive fun look with sparkle and glam.
Jess: I wanted to show a new and creative looks with colour extensions and a whole lot of volume..

Inspiration is a really funny thing it comes it all shapes and sizes and sometimes when you’re least expecting it.

For me, this year I was hugely entertained by a very funny peacock on a farm!

His carefree and confident actions had me in hysterics… he knocked other birds in his pen flying every time he splayed all, his feathers and heeled his call…his whole look at me I feel awesome attitude was not only very funny to watch but actually quite inspiring and it did make me think we should all be a little bit more peacock.

Same but different.
3 models with what you would describe as curly hair, yet they are all very different.
I enjoy the unpredictability and challenges that it presents, you are constantly looking for something better than last time.
I had a desire to create sculptured shapes that were pleasing on the eye , but also has an element of surprise.

I love short hair and balayage, so I wanted to show off these styles as it is what I am most passionate about. Be yourself, don’t change for anybody. Short hair don’t care! Bright colours, wacky hair styles, just love to stand out in the crowd.

My passion has always been colour. Blondes, creatives, any colour work is my fave and excites me week on week. My looks I’ve created are based around the colour work I do day to day in the salon, something wearable and that is bespoke for each of my models. Making people feel good and building on their confidence is one of the things I love the most about my job, and these looks celebrate that for me.

If you don’t know me, I LOVE colour and creative. I’m the girl who just love a good old challenge. I get lots inspiration off social media and the funky hair accounts I follow. I think it’s nice to step out of your comfort zone once in a while and spice things up, just like your hair! Your hair is your identity! Be you, stand out, express yourself! I am so excited for you to see the wigs that I have created. This was a chance for me to really show my creative side as it’s not everyday I get to go wild and let my imagination run free. I hope you enjoy!
